Slow Bike Race

11:00 AM

What is a Slow Bike Race?? It is a race to a finish line that you win by being the slowest in the group.

So if you are really good at “hovering” on your bike, you could be good at this!

This will partially be a fundraiser, but winners also get prizes: Best decoration and slowest rider.

Participants in the Slow Bike Race may also ride in the Bike Parade at 10:30,

immediately before the Slow Bike Race.

How it Works

Riders must be 12 years old or older. Adults are encouraged to participate.

Depending on participants, we may have two categories,

one for 12-17 year olds and one for 18 and older

Bikes may be decorated before the event. Turtle theme decorations are encouraged,

but you don’t have to decorate it!

11:00 am  Riders gather at 8th and Husband St.

Observers can cheer on the riders and contribute to the best decorated bike.

Money collected will go toward Payne County Youth Services.

Race Rules

   1. Riders must use a regular 2-wheeled bike. Helmets are required.

   2. Riders must ride in their lane, going forward. They can not go backwards, or cross the lane line.

   3. There is a consolation mark, and if no one makes it that far, then there may be a second “heat”.

   4. Touching the ground with feet or hands disqualifies the racer.

   5. The winner is the last person across the finish line.

   6. If no one crosses the finish line, the last person still riding will be declared the winner.

Money prizes are awarded for best costume and the slowest qualifying rider.

Money collected for Viewer’s choice goes to Payne County Youth Services.
