Peace Jam

Join us from 7-9 PM on Friday in Room 121 for Dancing Turtle's annual Peace Jam!

Peace Jam is now in its third year in Stillwater and second year as part of Dancing Turtle. It is a low key, fun, family friendly, music gathering. As the name implies, we try to avoid downer and angry songs. A song circle with a twist. Tab sheets are projected onto a screen so all participants can read the lyrics and folks with instruments can play along. We have access to thousands of tab sheets for thousands of songs, so we’ve rarely been stumped when someone requests a tune. All are invited to attend.

Since inception more than 300 different songs have been played, or attempted to be played, at Peace Jam, ranging from Hank Williams to the Eagles to Bob Dillon to Sting to Bonnie Rait, and beyond. By the time the Jam’s over, we’ll probably add a few more that we’ve not done before.

We’ll start at 7 pm and go until 9 pm, or until everyone is worn out, whichever comes first. If you want to bring some nibbles to share, they’re always appreciated. Hope to see you there.

Join us Saturday morning Room 110 for a series of workshops and interactive performances, including Music for Kids, Music Zoo, and a Misspent Ukes singalong and workshop!

Songwriter's Living room

Join us Saturday and Sunday in the Lowry Activity Center for casual, living room-style performances from Missepent Ukes, Mark Christian, Hugh Foley, Quincy Einstein, Clint Clausing, Prairie Vole Conspiracy, Eric Ryan Johnson, Haydon Harris, and Presley Rains.

Dancing Turtle Open Mic

Join us for the Dancing Turtle Open Mic from 1-6 PM on Saturday in Room 110!

Whether you're a singer-songwriter, part of a duo, or just love to strum and sing, this is your chance to share your sound with the community. It's a laid-back, supportive space to perform and connect with fellow music lovers. Sign-ups will be available on site and spots are limited, so come early to secure your slot. All ages and skill levels welcome. Let's fill the room with homegrown Oklahoma talent!

Rock academy

Join us on Saturday at 6:15 PM for a special performance from the Rock Academy on the Kicker Sound Stage!

Rock Academy consists of middle school and high school musicians that rehearse and perform as a band. Students receive guidance on their instruments and vocals as well as how to rehearse as a rock band, before performing on the Kicker Sound Stage. Students enter as amateurs and leave like rock stars!
